A Deaf business that employs Deaf staff to support Deaf adults with learning disabilities.  To support them to live as independently as possible and be included in the deaf  and wider community.

Criteria for Admission

 

  • Homelife (Leeds) Ltd provide supported living accommodation to Deaf or hearing impaired adults primarily with a learning disability and/or mild mental health issues.

 

  • Under the Supported Living framework we are able to offer placements to adults aged 18 years and onwards, although there is currently not a fixed age limit on the mature years. This will be assessed on the needs of the individual to consider the appropriateness of the placement.

 

  • Homelife promote equal opportunities, fair access and diversity to all groups of people.

Admission is not considered suitable for the following:

 

  • Those who do NOT use BSL to communicate

 

  • Those needing ongoing nursing care

 

  • Those suffering from acute mental illness who presents a health and safety risk to others around them in the home

 

  • Those whose additional needs would present a health and safety risk to others around them in the home
