The support provided is tailored to meet with individual’s needs and preferences. We actively support individuals by providing them with a deaf support worker and ensuring they have access to a communication support worker on a daily basis.
The centre can offer support with employment training opportunities, linking with national vocational training packages and access to key skills training, such as Maths and English. Day support and learning will be delivered by experienced learning facilitators that have British Sign Language experience. Additional support can also be accessed and training materials adapted to suit the communication needs of those people attending the centre.
All workers have enhanced DBS checks every 3 years. We provide a comprehensive sign posting service,also communication / support assessment’s which identify specific personal care / communication needs and enables us to provide individual support package's so clients can develop independent living skills more successfully.
Openspace is the new communication unit developed to support hearing impaired people with additional needs. Our aim is to actively support and advise individuals on matters relating to daily living tasks, support with physical and emotional wellbeing and development of communication skills. Accessing leisure activities and accessing education resources in the local community.
